How to Achieve The Ideal Golf Swing Drill

Golf is perhaps the latest elite sport and fitness activity to take the fitness circles and sporting enthusiasts by storm. Almost every other individual, wants to become a golfing expert or at least an amateur player and it is a good way to meet up with friends and colleagues in the weekends and enjoy yourself, while keeping yourself healthy.

A really perfect golf swing drill is often a pleasure to behold. However it is not too difficult to attain.

The perfect golf swing punch begins with an effective back swing with the golf club swung right back to the limit of your body. Only at that segment of the perfect golf swing exercise your brain should be preparing for the rotation of your body and also the arm extension.

Next, the movements of the perfect golf swing drill moves to the down swing, which starts with the lower part of the body, including the legs and hips. A transfer of weight will take place from back to front with the knees, thighs and hips all moving forward.

The perfect golf swing drill ends with the body weight on the outside of the front heel and the inside of the rear foot.

The perfect golf swing drill is easy when your body is prepared and conditioned to obtain it. However the perfect golf swing drill may be very difficult for a golfer not involved in any golf specific exercise made to condition and prepare their muscles and body generally for the strain and pressure that golf usually brings.

Most professionals take their golf-specific exercises very seriously, but some new comers are unlikely to let go of the so-called good old days when exercise had no role in the leisure sport of golf. Still they are finding the going increasingly difficult as more and more golfers embrace golf exercise courses.

It is obvious that the perfect golf swing drill happens only with those whose muscles and bodies are already prepared.

The 5 Minute Putting Drill That Is Perfect For Busy Golfers

One problem I see frequently with a lot of amateur golfers is their lack of effective putting practice before a round of golf. They often make the same putting mistakes over the opening 6 holes of a round. Mistakes such as the following:

Putts that barely make it 50% of the way to the hole Putts that take a trajectory away from the hole Putts that run past the hole leaving difficult second putts

The benefit of taking 5 minutes to practice some putting can really provide benefits, especially the first few holes were many a bogie are made. The following putting drills make effective use of your practice time before a round and should help establish in your mindset the correct alignment when putting and a good feel for the green's speed.

Alignment

Start by doing your normal routine of lining up a putt and address the ball as you normally would. Before taking the putt place a club down at your toes to show the line you are taking. Step away and look down the line of the club on the ground. Is this pointing toward the hole? If not, then perhaps your technique of lining up shots needs to be revised so try picking a different target to aim for (one closer to your ball) and try again with another technique. A simple alignment technique is to stand behind the ball and visualise the trajectory you expect the ball to take on the way to the hole. Then simply pick a target point along the trajectory that you wish to aim for and line up your body to this target.

Distances

You can practice putting at several distances but it's generally easier to recall the feeling of putting a short, medium and long distance putt. Here is the putting drill you should do.

Start with a long putt. Try to make a dozen of these long putts and try getting the distance of your putt correct. Get the rhythm of your swing consistent and just vary the distance you pull the putter head back.

Next, pick a medium distance that is somewhere around the 10 to 12 foot distance. You should pick a distance which you personally experience regularly. For better players with greater pitching accuracy this distance could be shorter. Again, try to take up to 12 putts and aim to get within a meter of the hole, and preferably not short of the hole. The accuracy of the putting line is important with this drill - you want to see some putts going in.

Finally, do some short putts within 1 to 2 meters of the hole. This is done last so that you get a confidence boost from a high number of putts successfully going in the hole.

Using these simple drills helps to fine-tune your putting accuracy and distance control before you head to the first tee and allows you to leave your mistakes on the practice green, rather than the course.

3 Free Golf Tips to Improve Your Golf Swing Fast

Golf is perhaps the latest elite sport and fitness activity to take the fitness circles and sporting enthusiasts by storm. Almost every other person, wants to become a golfing enthusiast or at least an amateur player and it is a good way to meet up with friends and colleagues in the weekends and enjoy yourself, while keeping yourself healthy.

But even if you aspire to become an amateur weekend club golfer who loves golfing for the pleasure it affords and harbors no ambition of emulating the feats of Tiger Woods, you have to learn a few tips to improve your golf swing. Otherwise you will become the butt of everyone's ridicule and be deemed as a social climber or a wannabe socialite. Let us therefore learn a few techniques to improve your golf swing and shut the mouths of your detractors up.

So, what is the right way to do a smooth golf swing transition?

I have often noticed that weekend amateur golfers have this strange tendency of beginning their downswing with a violent and tense motion that completely eliminates any chance of a solid contact. You need to remember that the most critical transition point is the top of the swing that should gently flow down to make a smooth downswing. Let me tell you a good strategy to improve your downswing. When raising your golf swing to the top think light and lazy. This will help.

Another thing that I have observed is that an amateur golfer tends to use his wrists to swing the club backwards in too quick a motion. As a result, the swing goes off plane and proper extension is reduced. Let me prepare you for a proper takeaway.

Firstly you have to stand in your address position which is normal for you and then behind your club head, you have to drop or place a ball. While initiating the backswing, the ball has to be rolled backward. In this way you have to roll the ball till it shoots past the right foot if you are a right hander.

And if you are able to do this properly, the shoulder on the opposite side will move beneath your chin and you will be able to feel that. And then when you aim the backswing, you will yourself understand or gauge how straight you should keep your left arm.

Other pointers that you need to keep in mind are passing the pole to acquire the maximum consistency and distance, remembering the practice area, getting an improved swing stance, keeping a bucket of balls handy that will also save you a lot of time.

Newbies’s Guide On Golf Swings

Maybe you are just an beginner golfer who is out to have some fun. But even then you need to know a few tricks and tips for better golf swings. This will help you to play your corporate peers better and earn a few brownie points and give a fillip to your popularity. Let me give you a few handy golfing tips that will improve your swing super fast and you will soon start earning accolades on the field.

Correct swing tempo

The tempo of a swing and a pitching wedge while using a driver happens to be the same. Again when you take a full swing you get the same tempo, regardless of the kind of club you use. If you can maintain the consistency of your tempo, you will also be able to maintain the consistency in contact and this will lead to accurate shots.

If you want to ensure a proper swing, you have to allow your arms to lead and using your arms you draw away the club smoothly. Then you have to allow your body to follow. And this stance will also shift your weight automatically from your left to right side because the left hips and shoulders turn obediently. Almost 90% of your body weight will rest on your back foot when you are performing the top of the swing.

When you are at the top of your swing and wish to gain some accuracy over your shot, pull with your left arm. And next, you shouldn't ape the leading down swinging move performed by pros. They gain a lot of power from it, but you are an amateur golfer and such an action might result in the ball sliding forward and then you will experience slicing, weak shots.

Maintain the balance of your swing

Use the middle 3 fingers and turn the club loose. Then using your thumb you have to balance the club. The little finger will grip the club only when you are at the top of your backswing. You also have to turn your shoulders to an exact degree in such a way that your target and your club are in line. I always recommend this valuable exercise to work your left thumb under the shaft. This move will keep the club balanced and you will be ready for hitting.

Unless you know how to correctly grip the club, you won't get a good hold nor will you be able to put it in the proper slot and of course making winning shots is completely out of the question. That is because you won't be able to get the ball through properly.

Perfecting Your Golf Swing

Most golfers will say the hardest part of their game is focus. The mental side of golf is one spoken of but often overlooked. Do you have a friend that breaks 80 on every round? Why is that? Practice, they practice. What they don’t tell you, is what they practice at. They practice at mental toughness; golf has often been referred to as 10% Talent 90% mental. When overcoming that mental side of golf, do you try to change your equipment, the time at which you play, maybe even they guys you play with. Here we go, some tips that are going to help get you on your way to being a better golfer.

The tempo of golf is often a distraction for golfers, you are stuck behind a slow foursome DISTRACTING or maybe the guys behind you are rushing you DISTRACTING and you feel that pressure to golf faster. The tempo of the course should never affect the tempo of your swing. The tempo of your swing is so important; to achieve the desired results. How do I find MY tempo you ask? A golfer can find their tempo by doing these simple things:

SLOW DOWN!! People often think that if they can swing faster and hit the ball harder they will get results, this is not the case at all. SLOW DOWN and focus on YOUR tempo not the tempo of the game. This is true is some instances, but, for the sake of this article we will not be discussing those concepts. No matter where you are playing or who you are playing with; the tempo you keep is is going to make you take the same back swing, have you contacting the ball the same, and allowing you to follow through the same every time. How do you practice tempo? Go to the driving range and practice with one club at a time. Take your driver and hit 20 balls, then take your 9 iron and hit 20 balls work your way in 3W-8I and on until you have hit them all. To perfect your back swing come to the same position every time. No matter what club you are using the ball wants to be hit in the same place at the same speed every time. When you swing a Driver you want to hit the ball far and often times straight, should you not have the same goal with every other club in your golf bag. You really want to be swinging all of your clubs at the same speed, you will see great improvement on how well you make contact with the ball. Follow through is the same as your back swing you need to follow through the same on every shot. Your follow through will affect your accuracy a 100% of the time. Working on these simple techniques will improve your mental game and when that improves so does your score.

This is a three step process after you are done at the driving range it is time to head to the chipping green. You will want to work with your Wedge, 60deg, 8I, and 9I. You need to use every club for at least 100 chips. Let you tempo lead every ball to the green. When chipping just focus on your tempo, using the same stroke every time. Remember chipping should be another tool in your arsenal and not the final result. Many careers have been made from singles and doubles hitters it is not just the home run hitters that decide how games turnout. Stay focused and you will hit the green every time. The 8i and 9i will be used to work out the tempo of the bump and run technique. Tempo here is the key still but keep in mind that now you have too much club for such a short distance. Block out what is going on around you and focus on your tempo!! Imagine you are still hitting that same wedge, Change the Club not the Tempo!!

Putting Putting Putting! This is not rocket science but yet very misunderstood? We have now gone from Driving range tempo to chipping tempo to putting tempo the TEMPO does not change only the environment. While practicing don't worry about how far or where the ball goes work on keeping your tempo the same every time. You are never going to change your swing for a putt. The only part about putting that changes is the distance. Start by sinking 10 putts in a row from 1ft away after you have done this, move out to 2ft, repeat until you sink 10 in a row from 10ft away. Tempo is key when you are trying to stay focused.

The goal for these exercises is to teach your to go through the same steps every time. You are trying to create a tempo that you are going to follow, now matter what is going on around you. If you focus on the tempo you will see results!! The game is 90% mental; set a clock in your mind that only allows for the same tempo no matter when or where you are golfing. By creating this method of training for your body, your mind will have no choice but to respond by focusing on what you are trying to do.

Learning The Ideal Golf Swing Technique

There are some games which are rewarding yet frustrating at the same time; and golf is definitely one of these. Building your skills as a golfer is mostly about improving your golf swing technique. Most people will tell you that you can never actually have a perfect swing but it is instead a process of continual improvement. If you've been frustrated by seeing your drives go slightly awry, only to wonder why you can't hit them like that all the time when you do manage to get a satisfying swing off, this article may be able to help.

Your Golf Swing Performance is what makes your drives successful or less than successful and like any sport, there is some quantifiable technique involved in getting your swing where you want it to be - however, what you have to do is to find a swing which works perfectly for you. It's easier said than done, but if you put the tips which follow into action, you may find yourself with a golf swing technique which can get your game to the next level.

The 3 Parts Of Your Swing

A golf swing has three parts: backswing, downswing and follow through. All three of these elements have to flow into one fluid motion and all three must be worked on in order to achieve this. Many golfers find it easiest to practice each component of their swing on its own.

The Stance

Unless you're already an expert player, then you should use the same stance for every shot. What you need is to have your feet set apart so that they form a straight line with your shoulders Your knees should be very slightly bent to allow you to maintain your balance as your weight shifts during your backswing.

The Grip

Just like your stance, you'll want to use the same kind of grip consistently. If you're inexperienced as a golfer or are having trouble with making the scores you'd like, then you should use a simple interlock grip style. Your grip has to be tight enough to retain control over your club while still giving you enough flexibility to make your swing easily.

Practice As You Play

While working on your golf swing technique, you should take every opportunity available to you to practice. Even when you're on the green playing a game of golf this is a chance to work on your swing. Remember not to get in the way of other golfers, but use this opportunity to get in some practice.

Get In Better Shape

Being in good shape and flexible isn't just good for your health, but also for your game. When you've built up more strength and flexibility, you'll have better balance and more control over your shots. If you're all about the long drives, this will also help you with that.

Many different aspects make for better golf swing technique. The tips in this article are not everything you need to know, but they are a good start. With diligent practice, your game will improve over time.
