Camping In Mexico – You Need To Be Prepared To Like It

While camping in Mexico is exhilarating, it can also be very challenging and it is this fact  that makes it such an exciting country to camp in. The area is filled with mystery and  intrigue, and if you are a camping greenhorn, leave Mexico until you have a little more  experience. Finding yourself off the main highway and in the dessert is easily done and you have to be prepared for any eventuality.

Planning is essential, and the trip to successful camping is to take everything you need, but not too much! However, no matter how well prepared you are, it is rare that a camping trip to Mexico comes off exactly as planned. If you are the adventurous type, this may just be the vacation you have been longing for!

The most fantastic camping opportunities are likely to appear out of nowhere, and this is the beauty of camping. If you camp in Mexico you will come home with incredible lasting  memories, but to remind you again, this is not for the faint hearted.

Having the clothing to be able to dress for most weather conditions is necessary, you could be in the scorching dessert one day and in the snowy mountains the next. Also important to note is the fact that even though desert conditions are hot during the day, they can drop to extremely low temperatures at night. Even tropical storms are a regular occurrence in this country, so be prepared.

Flexibility is key to your enjoyment of this experience, unpredictability has to embraced,  and carefully laid plans, change at the very last minute!

Making use of a camping checklist is a good idea, as this helps you to take what you need without overdoing it. These are available online, so make use of one. Shop for your luxuries in the US, while shopping in  unfamiliar stores in unfamiliar Mexican towns is fun, if you are a woman and you want a  Hershey bar now, you will be in for a long wait. Nachos can never replace your favorite  chocolate bar.

Never drink Mexican tap or river water, in fact no-matter where you camp, don't drink the  tap water, you know nothing about it. Camping with dysentery is no fun; take it from me, the  idiot who ate fresh oysters from Brazilian waters. Bottled water is a must for drinking and  you may have to bathe in a puddle or river water, so take biodegradable toiletries. We all  have to do our bit to protect the environment. Make sure you take toilet paper. Remember the  Baz Lerman song "sunscreen", take that too.

A medical kit is vital, and if you don't know what to put in yours, then perhaps you are not practical enough to be camping in Mexico. My mother suggests, anti-diarrhea and nausea  medication, elastoplasts of various sizes, asprin and brandy (her cure all).

When going for an outdoor holiday, do take a camping toilet along. It may not give you the comfort of your daily washroom but can still make your holiday hassle-free.Here are some tips you must consider before buying a camping toilet.

You must ensure that it is maximum odor free, waterless, lightweight and compact. There are many portable camping toilets that can be folded up and carried easily with your other gear.In fact, many manufacturers offer a combo deal with a discounts on portable toilets if you buy tents and other accessories from them too.

Pick portable toilets that come with bags specially made for disposing human waste. Also, it's much more convenient to have a camping toilet with its own privacy tent so that you can set it up behind your main tent. Do not buy waste bags or a camping toilet from a manufacturer without repute just because he is giving special discounts. Look at the overall quality of the unit before purchasing one.

The bags should be patented to be used for human waste removal. Always look for biodegradable environment-friendly disposable bags though. You can also put the toilet paper right in the bag itself for disposing.

In case you do not wish to carry a camping toilet you can request a spot in the camping ground nearer to the washroom. However, this is not always possible so before you buy a camping toilet unit, particularly on the Internet, do check the manufacturer's reputation. Many sites offer great combo deals too. A camping toilet is of great use during an emergency need in the night when trudging off alone to the main camping park toilet is not very safe.

In case you are going for a home-made camping toilet, don't forget to get cat litter and sawdust that is usually good to check the odor and purchase good quality human waste disposable bags.

North Florida and Santa Rosa County in particular, provides for some spectacular adventures. Milton is the county seat for this state and is also one of the oldest cities in Florida, so it is well established and has some interesting history too. This city was incorporated officially in 1844.

It is a sportsman's paradise and if it is adventure you are seeking, adventure is what you will find. Water sports are great fun, as is learning to rope and enjoying nature at the same time. A centrally located area like Milton allows the visitor access to many fun-filled activities and is close enough to Fort Walton, Pensacola and Panama City to allow the visitor to take day drives to these areas. There are plenty of camping facilities available, so you can just lift up your temporary home and move on to wherever tickles your fancy.

The Blackwater River State Park is also very close to Milton and is one of their hot spots. It is situated only 15 miles away from the city, has great facilities in the camping grounds and visitors are able to enjoy pristine riverside nature at its very best. This National park is fantastic for swimming, fishing and kayaking.

The Gulfarium in Fort Walton is a must see if you are visiting the area. This is an aquarium, and a great place to learn about the see creatures who inhabit the Florida coast and wetlands. Remember this is the state where you find the Florida Keyes. The dolphins and sea Lions are very entertaining and the creatures of the aquarium are very interesting.
